SHF Haviland is being used here at Sandhill to keep the outstanding genetics his sire possesses, and add another outstanding cow family to the pedigree. When we received back our steer carcass data, the Haviland progeny graded 83% prime. That pushed his carcass merit data to new heights. He is in the top of the breed for all 3 indexes and add value to his progeny, and that is actually what we are breeding cattle for. Our first daughters will be in production in January of 2024. The picture will be in complete focus then.
